About the ArtistI started out quilting when I was 12, back in the days when very few people in my small Michigan town quilted. I suppose the build up to the bi-centennial was part of it, but I think fabric is in my blood. One of my earliest memories is playing in my mother’s sewing machine case and sitting on the treadle of the old treadle sewing machine. Artists StatementI’m addicted to color and texture. I am a museum curator by training and that sometimes pops up in my quilts by drawing inspiration from objects and works of art. I also am an avid gardener, and sometimes that pops into my work. Sometimes I tell my friends I have a split personality. Some of my quilts are traditional, some are traditionally based, and then there are others which are “out there.” Artist Website |
