About the Artist
I grew up with a New England ethic — you know, “Use it up — wear it out — make it do — do without” — a point of view that prevails pretty much among quilters. I married a would-be-art-historian-turned-businessman with a point of view that balanced the pragmatic and the aesthetic. After my “mom” years (five offspring), I took a job that required competent photography. Finally the last ingredient — time — has enabled me to indulge more of my “druthers” and create a few quilts.
There are two sources of beauty which give me great joy: mathematics, which is ultimate abstraction, and living plants, which also conform to infinitely various patterns.
